A little about Chickenmash Farm
A little about Chickenmash Farm
Hello and welcome to Chickenmash Farm. How did we get that
name? And how did we get our start?
We’re the Mash family. We started out with a few chickens so we could get healthy fresh eggs. I didn't know at the time chickens are the gateway
livestock. I smile every time someone tells me they just got a few chickens.
From there we got our first dairy goat, Star. She was
beautiful, sweet and the best first goat anyone could have asked for.
Our first goat Star |
I’m sure you've guessed by now, since chickens started it
all and with a last name like Mash that’s how we became Chickenmash Farm.
Star gave us so much milk we started making our own soap.
After work my husband and I would stand in the kitchen making soap and
practicing new recipes until we got it just right.
We used our soap, shared it with family and friends and
eventually started selling it to the public.
We started out at local crafts shows near our home and from there history was made.
We ended up starting a website and traveling all over Ohio.
Who would have known a few eggs and goats milk would have started such a fun
venture.
Olive & Ryan |
It’s just as important to us today as it was at the
beginning to produce healthy goat milk soap and body products. From the
beginning we tried to learn about a healthy lifestyle, by growing our own
organic garden with heirloom vegetables and herbs. We fed our goats this
way too and still do today. As we learn, we evolve and continually educate ourselves on what’s
good for our body and our goats.
Our goats are on a Non-GMO diet. We mix our
own herbal tinctures to maintain their health. We’re real picky about what goes
into our goats and our products. We source non-gmo oils for our products and
never use parabens. Our products come from our family to yours!
We all work together to make our family business a success.
If you are at a gift or trade show we attend stop and say hi!
We’d love to meet
you!
Thank you for visiting us today!

Chai Tea Lip Balm
Our newest lip balm flavor rolls out today. A customer suggested we make Chai Tea flavored lip balm. We knew we wanted to keep it natural so rather than use an artificial flavor we infused organic chai tea into our lip balm recipe. The result is delicious. As tempting as it may be don't lick your lips.
The winter weather can wreak havoc on your skin and your lips. Here's a couple quick winter tips just for lip care.
- Tip #1 Moisturize your lips throughout the day and drink plenty of water. Licking your lips provides temporary relief but leaves them drier in the long run.
-Tip #2 Exfoliate dry cracked lips. It's easy and you can do it at home with a couple ingredients. Add a little granulated sugar to coconut oil, sunflower oil or olive oil (really just use what you have on hand). Make a soft paste. Gently rub on you our lips. Clean off and moisturize with a good lip balm.
It's that easy and you can do it yourself. Be sure to visit us online and check out our newest flavor Chai Tea.
If Chai Tea isn't your thing we make Lavender Vanilla Lip Balm for the lavender lover. One of our most popular lip balms, Lemongrass for those who love lemon and herbs. We have Spearmint and Orange for more traditional flavors. Black Licorice for those who can't get enough of anise flavor. We can't forget Plain Jane Lip Balm for those who want to tame their wild side.

Tub Tea Recipe
We started making tub tea greeting cards. They are fun to make and a great handmade gift. We want to share some recipes with you to make your own. We use large tea bags but you can easily use a sachet bag.
Recipe #1 Lavender Oatmeal Tub Tea
- 2 cups Epsom Salt or Dead Sea Salt
- 2 heaping tablespoons of Lavender Flowers
- 1 cup Ground Oatmeal
- 1 cup Powdered Goat Milk (optional)
- 15-20 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Recipe #2 Chamomile Oatmeal Tub Tea
- 2 cups Epsom Salt or Dead Sea Salt
- 2 heaping tablespoons of Chamomile Flowers
- 1 cup Ground Oatmeal
- 1 cup Powdered Goat Milk (optional)
- 15-20 drops Orange Essential Oil
You can create your own mixture very easily with what ever you have on hand. Other things you can add in or substitute with one of the above ingredients could include baking soda or cornstarch. Both are skin softening like oatmeal or powdered milk.
You can substitute with other herbs also like calendula flowers or rose petals. Use your favorite essential oils.
Use a large mixing bowl and add all the ingredients together. I add the essential oil at the end and mix again. You can use tea bags like we do and seal them with an iron or simply use sachet bags with a draw string. Spoon your mixture into your bags and it's that easy and ready to use.
We made handmade greeting cards to hold our tea bags. We'll list instructions on how to make your own tub tea holder soon.
